Fun fact about New Zealand

1. The Maori name of New Zealand is Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud.

2. New Zealand was once governed as part of the territory of New South Wales and later a part of Australia.

3. It is one of the three countries in the world that has two official national anthems of equal standing.  The first is God Save the Queen and the other is God Defend New Zealand.

  1. Hello Sarsha,

I'm Evelyn and I will be working with the Summer Learning Journey team for 2018-2019 to read and follow amazing blog posts like yours! I am so excited to read what pops into that wonderful brain of yours and hope you have fun on this journey!

Those are some interesting facts about New Zealand! I have lived here my whole life and had no idea about facts number 2 and 3 so thank you for telling me more about our country! Please remember to make sure you put information into your own words next time. I think the Maori name for New Zealand is a pretty name, I also think your name is beautiful, I really like it! Fact number 2 is surprising to me, have you ever been to Australia before? I've been to Australia two times and both times I visited Sydney. It's a similar city to Auckland except the shopping malls over there are much, much bigger! Do you enjoy shopping? I think it's fun to walk around with friends and have a good time.

    Happy blogging,
    Evelyn :D

  2. Morning Sarsha! This looks fantastic, I had no idea we had two national anthems. I found this a little hard to read, next time think abut the colors you are using and how they look against your background. I can't wait to see what else you produce these holidays.

Have a fantastic Christmas and New Year!
    Miss McGeady
